Browser network egress

IP Address and Location

First, check where your browser is connecting from, then see whether the route matches your expectations. This page checks only the egress details for your current request. It doesn’t scan your device or automatically test for DNS leaks.

What these results mean

IP address and location

Your egress IP is the public address our site sees when it receives your request. After connecting to a route, check again to see whether the address or country/region has changed. Location data comes from an IP database and may not match your device’s actual location. Out-of-date database records can also show the wrong region.

ISP and proxy detection

The ISP usually identifies the network provider associated with an address, such as a local carrier, data center, or cloud network. Proxy detection is an assessment provided by the lookup service: a proxy result doesn’t necessarily indicate a connection problem, and no proxy detected doesn’t prove that you aren’t using one. If the service can’t provide a result, this page shows “Temporarily unavailable.”

To check the route used by AI tools, review your client’s routing rules and verify the connection within the tool itself. For more on how this works, see the AI Acceleration Guide. For setup basics, see the Getting Started Guide.

How to check for DNS leaks

DNS translates domain names into network addresses. An IP lookup can show where a webpage request came from, but it can’t see every DNS request your device sends to resolvers. That’s why this page can’t conclude that there are no DNS leaks based on your IP results.

Check each part of the DNS resolution path

  1. Check your client. Make sure the route you intend to use is connected, and review the DNS interception, rule-based mode, and direct-connection settings. Refer to the features and documentation provided by your client. Global mode alone doesn’t prove that DNS is being intercepted.
  2. Check your browser and system. See whether your browser’s secure DNS, system DNS, or other network tools are configured to use a specific resolver. The browser’s built-in encrypted DNS may use a different route from your client, so check your rules to confirm the setup matches your expectations.
  3. Inspect DNS requests. If your client offers DNS or connection diagnostics, check the resolver and outbound route while visiting the domain in question. Don’t enable content logging for troubleshooting. Before sharing diagnostic details, remove subscription links, tokens, and other account information.
  4. Cross-check your results. For further verification, use a DNS test tool you trust that explains its testing method, and compare resolver results before and after connecting. A difference in resolver location alone doesn’t prove a leak; also check whether DNS requests are following the intended route.

After changing settings, check your egress again and revisit the target service. If the results still don’t match your expectations, use the user panel support ticket to describe your platform, connection mode, and the issue. Don’t include your full subscription link.

Lookup privacy and errors

We don’t log your queries. This page only sends requests to our GeoIP endpoint. It doesn’t save your IP address, location, or lookup history in browser storage, and it doesn’t fall back to third-party public lookup services. The copy button attempts to write to your clipboard only when you click it.

“Temporarily unavailable” means the endpoint can’t be reached, its response can’t be parsed, or a required field is missing. It doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem with your connection. Check that your network is working, then click “Check again.” If the issue continues, try again later. This page never substitutes guessed data for an actual response.
